Kossuth County Agriculture and Motorsports Museum - Open Saturday's and Sunday's 1:00pm - 4:00pm. April through December. Museum 395-1200.  Contact Ron Lohman, 341-1312. Located at Kossuth County Fairgrounds. Admission $5.00 for adults, ages 13 and under are free. Museum meeting room is also availalbe for rent for meetings and receptions. Wed 5/3 Giving Back Day - Annual clean up day with ihgh school students from AHS & BGHS. Sponsored by Algona Area chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the City of Algona.

Thu 5/4  2nd Annual Mayor's Prayer Breakfast - 6:30am - 7:45am. $5 per person at Trinity Life Center. Contact Dave Jenson for more information at 295-7744.

Sat 5/6 Annual AlGLOna 5K Run/Walk at BGTHS. Pre-Activities - 7:00pm - 9:00pm. Start time - 9:00pm. $30 per person or $150 for team of 6 for registrations received on or before April 7, 2017. After that date it is $40 per person. No teams allowed after April 7th. Age 6 and under are FREE. Register by April 7th to guarantee a t-shirt by race day. Registrations received after April 7th may pick up t-shirt at the Algona Chamber office after May 12. Questions? Email alglona5k@gmail.com. Proceeds to benefit Algona Recreational Trail. Thu 5/11 KRHC Auxiliary Tag Day - Look for auxiliary volunteers out and about in our community seeking donations for this year's project - infant bassinets to gently and safely welcome the newest members of our county. We appreciate your support.

Sat 6/3 Morwens Kiwanis Fishing Derby  - at Smith Lake, all children preschool - 6th grade. Registration begins at 8:30am with fishing from 9:00-11:00am. Bring your own fishing pole. Lunch will be provided with lots of prizes. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Sat 6/3 BRAK - Bike Ride Around Kossuth - $20 per entry for pre-registration by May 22. $25 after May 22. Entry includes a 2017 BRAK t-sirt. Register electronically on the BRAK Facebook page. Registrations begin at 7:00am at Algona Family UMCA east parking lot (2101 E. McGregor St). Registrations will close at 8:00am. Sponsored by Algona Rotary Club. Popcorn, lemonade, pizza, walking tacos available for purchase. Tote of footballs, soccer balls, jump ropes, frisbies, hoola hoops for the kids.
