Kossuth County Agriculture and Motorsports Museum - Open Saturday's and Sunday's 1:00pm - 4:00pm. April through December. Museum 395-1200.  Contact Ron Lohman, 341-1312. Located at Kossuth County Fairgrounds. Admission $5.00 for adults, ages 13 and under are free. Museum meeting room is also availalbe for rent for meetings and receptions. Fri 6/2 Energy Dance & Tumbling Recital at Ed and Betty Wilcox Performing Arts Center at 5:00pm

Sat 6/3 Morwens Kiwanis Fishing Derby  - at Smith Lake, all children preschool - 6th grade. Registration begins at 8:30am with fishing from 9:00-11:00am. Bring your own fishing pole. Lunch will be provided with lots of prizes. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Sat 6/3 BRAK - Bike Ride Around Kossuth - $20 per entry for pre-registration by May 22. $25 after May 22. Entry includes a 2017 BRAK t-sirt. Register electronically on the BRAK Facebook page. Registrations begin at 7:00am at Algona Family UMCA east parking lot (2101 E. McGregor St). Registrations will close at 8:00am. Sponsored by Algona Rotary Club. Children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Sponsored by Leadership Algona Class which is a program through the Algona Area Chamber of Commerce. Proceeds will benefit Algona and Bishop Garrigan Schools.

Thu 6/8  RAGBRAI Blitz at The Locker Room Bar & Grill -  4:00pm - 7:00pm. Meet the committee. Purchase t-shirts and other items. Sign up to host riders. Sign up to volunteer for many different opportunities. RAGBRAI stays overnight in Algona on Monday, July 24. Call Algona Chamber for more information - 295-7201. Award presented to Chet Schoby Family in appreciation for his many years of service and dedication to the Society. Refreshments will be served. Open to the public. Thu 6/22 - Party in the Park - BIG TOP ALGONA - 5:30pm - 7:30pm. Carnegie Lawn area. Entertainment by Stringwinders Music. Magician/Comedian Mike Prestby. A clown will be doing balloon animals. Popcorn, lemonade, pizza, walking tacos available for purchase. Tote of footballs, soccer balls, jump ropes, frisbies, hoola hoops for the kids. Thursday, July 6 - Stinson Prairie Arts Council exhibit by Mary Call (daughter of Asa Call). Friday activities include a free movie at 10:30am and 1:30pm. Heritage Award presentation at 6:30pm at Riverview Cemetery followed by the Cemetery Walk Voices from the Past. Saturday activities include river canoeing, coed sand volleyball tournament, free Kids Bash at Vetersan's Park, Cruise In at Kossuth County Ag & Motorsports Museum, Radio Controlled Quarter Scale racing, BBQ Showdown, beer garden with entertainment by Spenser Rahm and Vic Ferrari Band. Sunday activites include a Showboat Open Golf Tournament at River Road Golf Club and an indoor presentation of the cemetery walk. Call Algona Chamber at 295-7201 for more information.
